Founded in 1895 by former cavalry officer Captain James Hartwell, Golden Horizon Stables has been a cornerstone of the community for generations. Our reputation for excellence in horse training is built on traditional methods combined with understanding of horse psychology.
Located on 50 acres of pristine land with views of the mountains, our facilities include a main stable with 24 stalls, a training corral, riding arena, and extensive pastures for grazing.
Our team consists of experienced trainers who have dedicated their lives to the art of horsemanship. We believe in building strong relationships between horses and their owners through patience, consistency, and respect.
Owner & Founder
Former cavalry officer with over 40 years of experience in horse training and care. Captain Hartwell founded Golden Horizon Stables after his distinguished military career.

With 15 years of experience managing premier stables across the West, Elizabeth ensures our operations run smoothly and all horses receive exceptional care.
Head Trainer - Breaking
Specializing in breaking wild horses with gentle methods that build trust. Sam has a natural talent for communicating with even the most spirited animals.
Head Trainer - Racing
Former jockey with expertise in training horses for speed and endurance. Robert's racing horses have won numerous competitions throughout the territory.
Head Trainer - Riding
With a focus on proper riding techniques and posture, Margaret trains both horses and riders to work in perfect harmony for an optimal riding experience.
